For struggling students, making up credits in summer school is essential. However, recovering those credits can be difficult for some of our students. Families must pay $50.00 per half credit and provide transportation for their summer school student, a large investment of time and money. For families that might already be in financial hardship, summer school may not be an option.
In order to alleviate some of this pressure, Neighborhood Learning Alliance has, in the past, provided transportation and the enrollment cost for students in need of this credit recovery option. In previous years, we have also provided additional tutoring and classroom support to summer school programs.
Neighborhood Learning Alliance is currently working on providing these services to summer school students this year. Watch our facebook , twitter, and News and Events page to keep updated, or call our office at (412) 363-1910 for more information.
