Elementary School Programs

Our afterschool program for students K-5 utilizes a "Learn Through Play" model, where students learn academics through games and manipulatives.  These activities are designed to improve fluency, reading comprehension, and math skills in a fun, interactive way!  The program currently operates for three hours following the school day at Weil, Ft. Pitt, Miller, Mifflin, Lincoln, Stevens, Woolslair, and Faison.  Participants are provided with a free snack and dinner each program day, and the program includes a physical exercise component in addition to academic tutoring and leaning opportunities.

Middle-High School Programs

With a focus on academics, we offer a comprehensive afterschool program for middle and high school students.  High school is a challenging time where everything seems to keep changing.  Through our program, we offer students stability.  We ensure that each program site is staffed with people who are invested in the lives of their student participants, so that high school life is more manageable.  Program staff also work closely with teachers, administrators, and others to ensure all participants reach graduation.  Credit recovery is offered through NovaNET, an online and self-paced credit recovery system.

The program runs after school until 6:00PM Monday through Friday at most sites.  Students are offered a free snack and dinner each program day, and monthly field trips are planned for students who actively participate and who contribute a positive attitude to the program.
